Name the places where you see them
A sink cabinet, appliance edge and food cupboard are separate locations. Record the time and whether sightings are repeated. Where possible, describe the insect or provide an existing clear photograph. Small insects around dry food may call for a different assessment from a cockroach enquiry.
Mention moisture and food-storage conditions
Leaks, standing water and accessible food are useful details in an assessment. EPA guidance explains why removing food, water and shelter matters in pest prevention. Report a maintenance problem even if you do not know whether it is connected to the sightings. Do not disturb electrical appliances or fixed plumbing to investigate.
Explain anything already attempted
Tell the person assessing the problem about previous visits, products applied and changes in activity. Avoid adding another product before asking for specific advice: identification, preparation and treatment scope should fit the property. Keep any existing written instructions available for that conversation.
Ask about the whole agreed scope
Which rooms will be assessed? Does the quote include monitoring or another visit? Who handles a leak or a cabinet repair? In an apartment building, ask the building contact about coordination where shared access is needed. For a business, discuss occupied hours and the handling of stored goods before booking.
